FAQ’s for AIREX® Mats and Balance Products

1. How do I clean AIREX® mats correctly?

Dirty mats can be cleaned with a soft brush and hand-hot soapy water or with a solution of household detergent (washing-up liquid). Benzine and other standard stain removers should never be used for cleaning under any circumstances.  **Please see additional information at bottom of page**

2. Is it possible to wash AIREX® mats in a washing machine?

Although washing in a washing machine is possible, it is not recommended for practical reasons. If unavoidable, select a gentle wash program and do not exceed a temperature of 40°C. Standard laundry detergent should be used.

3. How do I clean AIREX® Balance products correctly?

Soiled pads are best treated with a soft brush and warm soap water. Stains and other marks should not be treated with solvents or stain remover.

4. What is the best way to store AIREX® mats?

Individual mats can be simply rolled up and stored with the straps which can be supplied for this purpose. For the simultaneous storage of several mats, draping over a mat stand or flat storage are both ideal. If left unused for longer periods of time, stacked mats should preferably be stored in dry, unheated rooms.

5. What is the best way to store AIREX® Balance products?

AIREX® Balance products are best stored flat. To avoid pressure, do not store any objects on top of them. Continuous pressure lasting for more than approximately 12 hours should be avoided. Storing them in bent fashion (e.g. hung over a washing line) will leave visible pressure points which will never completely recover. Constant storage in water or long periods of direct sunlight will shorten the life of the products, causing the surface to become brittle and stiff over time.

Cleaning

Dirty mats can be cleaned with a soft brush and hand-hot soapy water or with a solution of household detergent (washing-up liquid).  Although washing in a washing machine is possible, it is not recommended for practical reasons.  If unavoidable, select a gentle wash program and do not exceed a temperature of 40 degrees C.  Standard laundry detergent should be used.  Benzine and other standard stain removers should never be used for cleaning under any circumstances.

Disinfecting

Generally speaking, AIREX® exercise mats do not require disinfecting thanks to their antibacterial finish.  However, if disinfecting is required for special hygienic reasons, an aqueous solution of any of the standard disinfectants and detergents found in households, hospitals, and institutes should be used (Merfen, Desogen, Kohrsolim, Kohrsolim FFF, Terralim).  Disinfection with hot steam is not permissible.
